New Leadership Journey

Dear St. Thomas More School Community,

I am honored and excited to join St. Thomas More School as your new principal. My journey in Catholic education has been very rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this wonderful community.

As a Catholic, my faith is central to everything I do. It guides my leadership and my commitment to our school’s mission of providing quality education in a caring and loving Catholic environment. I look forward to working with all of you—our dedicated staff, supportive parents, our parish, and our pastor—to help our students grow both academically and spiritually.

At St. Thomas More, we are committed to knowing your child, loving your child, and preparing your child for life—both in this world and in their journey toward heaven. Psalm 139:1-2 tells us, “O Lord, you have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up, you discern my thoughts from afar.” This reminds us how important it is to truly know each child and understand their strengths, challenges, and potential. In Mark 10:14, Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” His words teach us how we should love and care for each child. Proverbs 22:6 guides us in our role to prepare them: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This verse emphasizes our duty to prepare each child for their future, both in this life and as they grow in their faith.

I know that this mission is something we can only achieve together. It will take all of us—teachers, parents, parishioners, and leaders—working hand in hand to guide our students on the right path, helping them grow in wisdom, faith, and love.

Together, we will strive for academic excellence, nurture the whole person—mind, body, and soul—and show God’s love through service to others.

I am looking forward to meeting and working with each of you, celebrating our Catholic traditions, and building a strong, welcoming community where every student can thrive.

With gratitude and excitement,

Richard Hernandez
